Why become instructor with us

Learn from One of Asia's Top AIDA Instructor Trainers

Anthony is one of the most seasoned AIDA Instructor Trainers in Asia, with a decade of teaching experience. The course gives you the latest techniques, the training science, and the real-world know-how. You'll learn to guide a student safely through every challenge — and along the way, pick up the things you weren't expecting: small insights and shifts in perspective that make you see freediving from a whole new angle.

Teaching Freediving as a Whole, Beyond the Syllabus

We don't teach you to follow a script. We train you to teach the sport.Every student is different, and your job as an instructor is to read what they need and create the space where each one can grow. That takes independent thinking, sharp problem-solving instincts, and a real understanding of freediving as a whole — which is exactly what this course is built to develop.

Instructor Training With Real Students

At VD, you'll teach real students under the direct guidance of an Instructor Trainer, and by the end of the course you will have independently led a full lesson from start to finish — your chance to put everything into practice and see it work. We believe in hands-on training!

Sharpen Your Technique, Dive by Dive

Your Instructor Trainer will go through your technique and your dives with you, refining every detail. You'll work through training methods together, dig into the why behind each drill, and walk away with a solid foundation to teach from.

Two stages, flexible scheduling

You can complete both stages back-to-back or spread them out — whatever works for your schedule.

Stage 1

Pool Instructor Training

4 days·Xiaoliuqiu

This stage builds the foundation of your teaching practice. You'll refine your own technique, develop an understanding of the science of breath-hold performance, and learn how to structure a freediving course. You'll practice coaching students of different learning needs, present theory sessions, and teach real students under the direct supervision of your Instructor Trainer.

Stage 2

Open Water Instructor Training

4 days·Xiaoliuqiu

This stage takes your teaching into the open water. You'll learn how to teach equalization and troubleshoot common issues, build effective depth training sessions, run safety and rescue drills, set up lines and buoys, and analyze technique across all depth disciplines. We'll also cover how to prevent and manage barotrauma — alongside real teaching practice with actual students, under the direct supervision of your Instructor Trainer.

Upon completion, you'll earn your AIDA Instructor certification.
